What every visit includes

Every maintenance visit covers the essentials:

  • Water treatments
  • Debris removal
  • Skimmer basket and net cleaning
  • Hiding exposed liner
  • Boulder touch-ups
  • Waterfall scrubbing
  • Aquatic plant care

Plans also include our clean-out services: spring cleaning, mid-season cleaning, fall service and winter shutdown.

Which plan fits your pond

These are general guidelines. We will recommend a plan after we see your pond.

Single visits suit owners who like doing their own upkeep and want a pro to check in once in a while, or to fix something that is not working right.

Monthly plans suit most ecosystem ponds. The pond gets regular care, and small problems get caught before they become big ones.

Bi-weekly plans suit ponds under trees, ponds with a lot of fish, and owners who want the pond looking its best all the time.

Weekly plans suit large features, ponds that host a lot of guests, and commercial or public water features.

Not sure? Tell us how you use the pond and how much time you want to spend on it, and we will recommend a plan.

Maintenance or a one-time cleaning?

They are different services, and most ponds need both.

A cleaning is a single, deeper service. A spring cleanout or a full drain and clean resets your pond. Cleanings average about $650 for small ponds, $1,150 for most ponds and $1,950 for large or complex features. See our pond cleaning cost guide.

Maintenance is ongoing care on a schedule. It keeps the pond clean and healthy between those bigger cleanings, so the water stays clear all season.

Ponds we did not build

We care for ponds and water features across Central Iowa no matter who built them. For a pond that is new to us, we usually start with an exploratory drain and clean. That lets us see how it is built, find any problems and recommend the right plan.

Our plans also cover pondless waterfalls and fountains. They need less care than a pond, but still need a little help to stay clean and running.

What our maintenance customers say

"Highly recommend their maintenance packages with either month/biweekly/weekly visits. The full maintenance approach completely changed our lives!" That is Angie Kearney, going on a five-year relationship with our team. Read more on our reviews page.

Doing it yourself

Plenty of owners handle their own care, and a well-built ecosystem pond makes that easy. Our DIY pond maintenance guide covers what you can do yourself and when to call a pro.
